Cucumber Salad Recipe + Kyocera Chef’s Knife Review

by Lizzy W   |   March 24, 2015   |   12 Comments

Stocking up on long-lasting kitchen equipment can really add up.  I know because sometimes I am dumb and will spend endless dollars on pots and pans because I have always thought that more expensive must mean better quality – NO!!!  I was so wrong, but better late than never for a big ole slap of reality.  I am so excited to have partnered up with Kyocera for some product reviews, including this new Kyocera 6″ Ceramic Chef’s Knife.  Their products are so affordable but more importantly such amazing quality.  I use this knife just about every day now and its only $59!!!  My other chef’s knives are easily $150+, I wish I would have found this one sooner!  So I decided to show it off with my favorite SIMPLE cucumber salad recipe!

Kyocera Chef's Knife 6"

The thing I love so much about ceramic knives is the durability, sharpness, and the fact they are so lightweight – oh, did I mention this one comes with a lifetime warranty and complementary sharpening?!  Yea, just like my Kyocera Frying Pan, I am now obsessed with this chef’s knife.  Seriously, these products are so affordable and I use them more than I use my $150+ kitchen tools…. EYE OPENING!!!!

(I received this product for review purposes.  All opinions are completely my own based on my experience.)

Ingredients

  • 2 medium cucumbers, peeled and cut
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 4-6 sprigs of dill, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onion, diced
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup balsamic OR (1/4 cup white vinegar + 2 tsp. sugar) – I prefer it without added sugar

Directions:

  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.  Easy instructions ever.

Never heard of these knives. They look kind of neat! We love making carrot salads, but this cucumber salad looks outrageous! So good!

I’d love to try a Kyocera knife. I have wanted one for years. I bought a cheaper brand last year and was disappointed with it.

I will definitely be getting this one — I have wanted a better knife, but I haven’t been able to justify the price tags to my budget. This one sounds great!
