How to Sous Vide Eggs
Cooking eggs are one of those basic things that every chef should know – they are just a fundamental staple in cooking. I thought I made great eggs… until the sous vide came along and blew my mind. When I discovered Anova’s precision cooker and learned all the things I could do with a sous vide it didn’t even cross my mind that you could go as far as cooking eggs that way! That is… until we had a sous vide double date night and my boyfriend made these eggs…. and oh my gosh they were the best I have had. We are like a food crack couple… we get way too excited about new stuff like this, but I love it.
The precision cooker or the Anova One are must buys – they are so affordable, under $200 dollars each, SO easy to use, literally a 4 year old could operate this thing. I’m in love with my new precision cooker though, because Anova even has an app you can pair with it to control the temperature and find recipes!!! It’s also bluetooth capable which is amazing because you can leave the room and control temps on your smart phone.
*** Follow up post coming – we are going to experiment this weekend with different temperatures and times and create a full chart of what you will get with each!

Sous Vide Eggs
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- salt, to taste
- thyme, to garnish (optional)
Directions:
- Hook up your precision cooker and set temp to 167 degrees F. Once the water bath reaches that temp, place eggs in the pot (SHELLS ON), and no need to vacuum seal. The timing on this is VERY important – leave the eggs in for 13 minutes then remove.
- Crack eggs and remove shell, season with salt and enjoy!
