Super Easy Homemade Gravy
My sister came over for dinner tonight so I had to think of something extra good to make… and of course my mind goes to gravy… We came up with this super easy gravy recipe with a few things we had on hand and it’s oh soooooo yummy. Enjoy 🙂
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of unsalted butter
- 1 onion, chopped coarsely
- 2 cups beef stock, or chicken stock depending which type of gravy you want
- 1/4 cup flour
- salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Heat a cast iron skillet and add butter. Once it is almost completely melted, add onions, salt and pepper, and stir until the butter is golden brown and the onions are almost translucent (about 12 min.).
- Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup flour and stir about two minutes, until pasty. Then, add in stock and stir. The gravy will start to get thick here, after about two minutes, so continue to stir. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve!
