Eggplant Quiche

by Lizzy W   |   March 1, 2015   |   13 Comments

I seriously love eggplant.  I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks…  so when I tasted an AMAZING Quiche at my favorite coffee shop I got inspired to make my own with eggplant.  Oh man it was sooooo yummy.  I tried to make it as healthy as I could, so I made one with crust and one crustless, and they both turned out so so good!  The cool thing about this recipe is you can tweak whats in it adding […]

Wagyu Sous Vide

by Lizzy W   |   February 26, 2015   |   19 Comments

I just got a fancy new Anova Sous Vide Immersion Circulator and my whole world has changed.  Literally.  This has to be one of the coolest cooking toys I have ever gotten.  You put whatever you want to cook (meat, fish, vegetables) in a vacuum seal bag, throw in a few seasonings, stick it in a pot of water, turn on the sous vide, and THAT’S IT!

Thank you Kyocera for partnering with me on this post!  I have a serious obsession right now with eggplant… I search menus at restaurants for it, I scour the internet daily for new recipes that use it, I dream about it…. so when I came up with this recipe and it actually turned out UNREAL, you can imagine my excitement :).

World’s Best Homemade Vegetable Stock

by Lizzy W   |   January 29, 2015   |   8 Comments

There is nothing like homemade stocks, they can change the flavor in all your recipes immensely.  There is just such a huge difference, especially when you use this stock, because roasting the vegetables before you simmer them really adds another level of complexity and richness and it’s just ohhh sooo good… you will thank me later.  The other thing I love about this recipe is the freezing capability – I usually freeze the stock I’m not going to use that […]

Thank you Kyocera for partnering with me on this post!  It’s no secret I have never been a fan of seafood… but recently that’s changing.  I forced myself to start eating it a couple of years ago because I know it’s good for me, and now I can’t imagine what took me so long.  When Kyocera sent me this frying pan, endless recipe ideas went through my head….but I wanted a bit of a challenge and seafood is exactly that […]
